development
I recently requested some information and advice from Josh Leo, a vlogger and journalist from Michigan who has been a significant contributor to online video pretty much from the get-go. The 5th Tone is still (constantly) in progress and so I am always open to new ideas or techniques for improving the look and feel of the site and show, etc.
Josh was more than helpful and patient, especially when trying to traverse my stupid audience response settings (a testament to my lack of skills on WordPress), which have since been upgraded so that folks don’t have to login to post a comment.
Here’s his comment to “fingernails”, with an excellent link:
I tried leaving a comment on your fingernails post but it said I had to be logged in… hmm better fix that.
Anyway, I will post the comment here:
This video reminds me of one of my favorite videos:

Thanks, Josh.
Sudan, Iraq, even New Orleans. Fingernails everywhere… in digital 1s and 0s, on 35 mm, and deep within the human conscience. Especially there. Rotting. Putrid.
They're finished, the people. But their fingernails will live on–a lie as memorial.
Recently I designed a new logo to accompany my RSS feeds (theoretically, that is). Hopefully, with some work, it will actually work within FireAnt and iTunes. We’ll see. I’m an admited novice when it comes to html and xml and all that business. Thank god for public forums.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. This logo feels a little to “British Punk” to me. It certainly wasn’t intentional. I was guided more by space limitations and continuity than anything else.
I also have a new favicon
in the address bar above. It’s short and simple, and all compliments of the free tutorials at Freevlog.org, which I whole-heartedly encourage you to check out when you have the time. Ryanne and Michael are providing a tremendous service to the burgeoning vlog community. Thanks, guys.
To whom it may concern,
This is an introductory post for TheFifthTone.com. If you are stumbling upon this blog for first time please excuse the construction. I’ll have this thing up and running soon enough. Thanks.
